La Braccesca estate extends over a total area of 508 hectares (1,255 acres) and is made up of two separate properties: the historical winery located in the Montepulciano area, which has 103 hectares (245 acres) of vineyards in the best subzones in the Nobile di Montepulciano area; the other property lies at the foothills surrounding Cortona with 237 hectares (585 acres). The wine takes its name from Sabatino Lulli, known as “Sabazio”, a monk from the Montepulciano Abbey, who was the first to give indications on how to produce wine from the local varieties during the Middle Ages. The first vintage of La Braccesca’s Vino Rosso di Montepulciano was 1992.

Sabazio 2022 is ruby red in color. The nose presents Sangiovese’s characteristic fruity notes: impressions of black cherries and blood oranges lead to floral aromas of violets. The palate is fresh, pleasantly vibrant with velvety tannins and rich flavors.
